Team New Hampshire - Basketball



Name: Derek Baer
Sport: Basketball 
Hometown: Portsmouth, NH
Local Program: Team Portsmouth
Bio: This will be Derek's first time participating in the USA Games and he is most looking forward to competing against athletes from across the county and supporting his teammates. Derek participates in basketball and soccer. In addition to his sporting activities, Derek is a 2nd degree black belt in taekwondo.
 
Name: Randy Belanger
Sport: Basketball
Hometown: Berlin, NH
Local Program: Androscoggin River Athletes 
Bio: Randy is very proud and excited to be a part of the 2018 Team New Hampshire basketball team. He is also excited to be playing alongside his brother on the team. This will be Randy's first time playing at the USA Games and it is a dream come true.
  
 

 
Name: Roger Belanger
Sport: Basketball
Hometown: Berlin, NH
Local Program: Androscoggin River Athletes 
Bio: Roger was very excited to be selected for the 2018 USA Games. He is looking forward to new experiences and a chance to take home a gold medal. Roger is also looking forward to competing alongside his brother, Randy.


Name: Ellie Coe

Hometown: Hopkinton, NH
Local Program: Storming Hawks
Bio: Ellie Coe believes that Special Olympics has given her the opportunity to become the athlete that she always wanted to be. Ellie has previously competed in the 2014 USA Games in New Jersey and the 2017 World Winter Games in Austria. Ellie believes that it is an honor to represent everyone in the state of New Hampshire and she wants to show everyone that anything is possible.
 

 

Name: Brenden Curry
Sport: Basketball 
Hometown: Nottingham, NH
Local Program: Team Barrington
Bio: Brenden has participated in a number of sports with Special Olympics, including soccer, basketball, snowboarding, athletics, and volleyball. In addition to Special Olympics, Brenden enjoys being outside, four wheeling and hunting. This will be his first USA Games and he believes that this event will make him a better basketball player.

 
Name: Luke Devins
Sport: Basketball
Hometown: Portsmouth, NH
Local Program: Team Portsmouth
Bio: This will be Luke's first time competing at a USA Games event and he is proud of himself because he put in a lot of hard work and dedication to make the team. Luke has a love for basketball which led him to become an assistant coach on the Portsmouth High School freshmen basketball team. In addition to playing basketball, Luke enjoys bowling.
 
 
 
 
 

 
Name: Trevor Lavalla
Sport: Basketball
Hometown: Nashua, NH
Local Program: Nashua Special Olympics
Bio: Trevor Lavalla began competing in athletics at the age of eight. From there he participated in a plethora of sports, including basketball, softball, and bowling. Special Olympics has helped Trevor develop both as an athlete and as a person. Trevor is most looking forward to progressing as a basketball player and as a teammate and having fun at the 2018 USA Games. 


 

Name: Cicely Mannino

Hometown: Milford, NH
Local Program: PLUS Pride
Bio: Cicely started competing when she was just nine years old and has competed in basketball, bowling, and floor hockey. This will be her first USA Games and she is really excited about meeting new people and playing basketball. She believes that this is an awesome opportunity to be with her peers and support all of them.  
 

 

Name: Andres Tourgee

Sport: Basketball 
Hometown: Peterborough, NH
Local Program: Conval High School
Bio: This is Andres first time attending a USA Games and his is very excited to represent Team New Hampshire. In addition to basketball, Andres enjoys playing tennis and soccer. This year he helped lead his High School Unified Basketball team to win the State Championship. He is looking forward to meeting and making new friends from all over the country.
