SONH State Golf Tournament – Everything You Need to Know
Join us as nearly 150 Special Olympics athletes and Unified Sports® partners go for gold in 18 hole, 9 hole, 5 hole and individual skills competition. All the information you need for the State Golf Tournament can be found below:
General Information

Information for Local Programs
The State Golf Tournament will offer competition in Unified alternate shot team play in 5, 9 and 18 holes, Individual stroke 9 and 18 hole gameplay and lastly individual skills competition.
Coaches must submit golf cards with scores from five rounds of the same event in which the individual or team will compete along with the course for each score to Kelsey via email at KelseyS@sonh.org by the end of the registration period.
To register for the State Golf Tournament, you will use Agon. Please make sure you are familiar with the timeline below.

Event Information
General Schedule
- 7:15 – 8am: Check-in for all 5, 9 and 18 hole golfers
- 8:30am: Shotgun start for 5, 9 and 18 hole golfers
- 9:00am: Check-in for Individual Skills athletes
- 9:30am: Individual Skills competition begins
- 10:30 – 1 pm: Lunch as golfers finish the competition
- 2 pm: Event complete (estimated)
General Event Information
- Lunch will be provided.
- Training is an important part of athlete growth in both skill development and overall physical fitness. Special Olympics New Hampshire expects teams to train twice a week for 10 weeks prior to the State Tournament, with one practice focusing on sport specific training and one practicing focusing on fitness (cross-training, etc.) to allow for optimal performance and readiness at the State Games.
- If the event is canceled, it will not be rescheduled. Head coaches will be notified via phone or email by 6am on the day of the event.
- Unified pairs must golf together during practice round scorecards that are submitted.

Intent to Participate
Friday, November 30th, 2018 to Thursday, July 18th
- During the Intent to Participate phase of registration, users must enter all athletes with their sport(s) and LPVs with their role and sport in Agon.
- No athlete or LPV may be added to the Tournament after intent closes and registration opens.
- All athletes, Unified partners and LPVs must be compliant by the end of the Intent to Participate phase.
- Local Programs shall provide for adequate supervision and coaching for all athletes. For competition activities, a minimum ratio of four athletes-to-one LPV and/or coach (4:1 athlete-to-LPV/Coach ratio) is expected. Please note, for Unified Events, (i.e. basketball/softball, etc. partners do not count toward this ratio, volunteer should be a non-playing LPV).
First Practice
By Monday, July 8th

Registration
Friday, July 19th to Thursday, August 15th
- During the Registration phase, users may update team names and enter meals information in Agon.
- Meals information may not be updated after registration closes.
- Golfers may compete in one event.
- Each Local Program must have at least one head coach (who may also be a player) registered for the Tournament.
- By the end of Registration, Local Programs must submit to five scorecards with a course index for each athlete and/or team to Kelsey Sullivan at KelseyS@sonh.org.
Scratch
Friday, August 16th to Thursday, August 29th
- During the Scratch phase of registration, users may update scores and remove athletes, LPVs, and/or their events in Agon.
- Local Programs will be assessed $40 (5 hole), $50 (9 hole) and/or $60 (18 hole) for each athlete and LPV registered for the Tournament at the end of the scratch period as well as $3 for each additional meal requested above the number of athletes and LPVs registered.

Final Information
Wednesday, September 11th
- Final tee times and event information will be emailed to Local Program Coordinators and head coaches.
