Director, Development – Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR)
Special Olympics New Hampshire (SONH) is a fast-paced, athlete centered, volunteer led, event-based organization for people with intellectual disabilities. We promote inclusion, acceptance, and physical fitness, allowing our athletes to experience the joy of sports and gain self-confidence.
The Director, Development – LETR will support and recruit Law Enforcement agencies to participate in and raise money for Special Olympics New Hampshire through the Law Enforcement Torch Run. The Law Enforcement Torch Run is a year-round public awareness campaign that provides grass-roots financial support for Special Olympics New Hampshire athletes. This position is part of the Development Department, which is responsible for raising our annual operating budget of $4 million.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee law enforcement agencies raising $550,000 for Special Olympics New Hampshire
- Establish and enhance relationships with 130 law enforcement agencies and support more than 1000 law enforcement professionals
- Support law enforcement agencies as they raise money for annual fundraising events, provide volunteers for Special Olympics competitions and attend training opportunities
- Visit and cultivate relationships with law enforcement agencies 2- 3 days per week
- Work with and support the Law Enforcement Executive Council as leaders of the Torch Run in New Hampshire
- Establish relationships with donors and event organizers
- Related responsibilities as they pertain to the Law Enforcement Torch Run and Special Olympics New Hampshire
- Support the mission of Special Olympics New Hampshire and all its work, which may include other duties as assigned
