State Softball Tournament

The State Softball Tournament offers competition for nearly 300 Special Olympics athletes in Unified Sports slow-pitch softball, and individual skills competition. Unified Sports slow-pitch competition will consist of a round robin assessment, followed by a medal round tournament. Individual skills competition will consist of fielding, throwing, hitting, and base running events. Outside of competition, a homerun derby takes place where athletes can participate when they are not actively competing. Prior to the tournament, each team submitted a skills assessment sheet to help determine accurate divisioning, and the assessment round will be monitored by Fusion coaches to confirm accurate tournament divisions. After the brief assessment round, competition will begin in two divisions, where each team will play at least three games, monitored by softball umpires.
This year, we’ll have teams from Maine, Vermont and Connecticut joining us!
