What are Winter Water Sports?
“Winter Water Sports” is a catchy name we gave to our cold water fundraising events years ago, and it’s continued to stick! Each year has it’s own theme. Winter Water Sports are fundraising events where people raise money to plunge into cold water during Winter. Funds raised support Special Olympics athletes in Local Programs. Unified Champion Schools also receive 30% of the money they raise for their Unified activities in their schools. We offer eight Winter Water Sports events annually:
Penguin Plunge – February 9 – Hampton Beach or DIY
High School Plunge – February 8 – Hampton Beach or DIY
Winni Dip – March 8 – Laconia or DIY
Law Enforcement Dip – March 8 – Laconia or DIY
High School Dip – March 7 – Laconia or DIY
Middle School Dip – March 7 – Laconia or DIY
Mega Dip – March 7 – 8 – Laconia or DIY
