Inclusive Youth Leadership

Inclusive Youth Leadership is the catalyst for a new leadership style, in both learning and sharing. It provides students with and without intellectual disabilities the opportunity to become agents of change and foster respect and inclusion in our schools and communities.

Examples of Inclusive Youth Leadership in schools:

Unified Champion School® Leadership Team – Unified pair (a student with intellectual disabilities and a student without intellectual disabilities) serving as co-leaders on their schools’ leadership team to support UCS activities and creating a culture of inclusion.

Unified Club – Students with and without intellectual disabilities working on projects and fostering friendships.

Youth Activation Committee – Youth leaders with and without intellectual disabilities focused on advocacy and actively transforming attitudes in their schools and communities.
