Special Olympics athletes transitioning into and from high school

A smooth transition into and from high school is essential for Special Olympics athletes as it helps them continue building on the confidence, skills, and sense of community developed through sports. Supporting high-school aged students in these transitions ensures they remain engaged in activities that promote physical fitness, social connections, and personal growth.

By being connected with a local program prior to entering high school or getting connected with a local program prior to graduating, Special Olympics athletes are able to continue their participation in the Special Olympics movement and are empowered to lead more independent, fulfilling lives while staying active and connected within their communities.
